Richard Halley, 54, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 18, the Hamilton Police Division said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on the 300 block of Whitehead Road at around 10:11 p.m.
Investigators said a man wearing a ski mask kicked in a detached garage's door. A resident confronted the burglar but he pushed past them and stole several items including two electric bicycles.
Police began searching the area with its unit for drones, also called unmanned aerial vehicles. One officer piloted a drone that gave police a sky view, guiding officers to the suspect’s location.
Officers moved in and Halley was taken into custody. He was charged with robbery, theft, burglary, and criminal mischief.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Hamilton police at 609-581-4080 or 609-581-4008.
